en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vox_AC30
During the Vox brand's early '70s "Dallas Arbiter" period, the tube rectifiers of AC30s were replaced by silicon rectifiers, which became standard on later AC30TB models. In the late 1970s Vox also introduced a solid-state AC30 (AC30SS), which is the AC30 model that was used by Status Quo. A tube AC30TB with spring reverb feature was reintroduced in 1978.

Choppa Whoppa:
Rick's red one with the dragon was a Zemaitis. He also have used at least three different Les Paul/SG Juniors, one had faded to brown with a lot of wear and it featured a big batwing scratchplate and removed Vibrola-unit. The other two is the one with a humbucker instead of a traditional P90 pickup and his "main" one.
In the 70s/80s he used a heavily modified Gibson Melody Maker referred to as the "Gibson Custom". He also used a Gibson Les Paul Special as seen inside the gatefold cover of BFY. What's more interesting is that he also used a rather unusual 3/4 sized Les Paul Special DC as seen in the "Rain" promo. Only 12 of them were shipped from the Gibson plant in 1959!
Almost forgot his more recent Melody Maker, (which he still uses) it came stock with a single humbucker and tune-o-matic bridge. This particular model was only in production between 1986-1993.

Red Telecaster for Andy
Choppa Whoppa:
Bryan, you have a big knowledge of Quo's guitars, no doubt, but I feel I must correct you a little.
You mentioned a "short scale Gibson Junior" that Rick used in the Rain video, it's in fact the Gibson Les Paul Special DC 3/4 which I listed in my earlier post. So it's not a Junior.
I'm also curious about the brown MM, when did he use that one? I've never seen any pics or footage with that guitar. Enlighten me!
Lastly, the white guitar in the RR (and parts of WYP) vids is the Ibanez Artist that Francis used during the JS and NTL sessions
Rock:
I know Andy pretty much only uses Jamie Davey Teles on stage now, and Rick and Francis have them in the rack at the side of the stage. They did used them on ISOTFC if I'm not mistaken too
Danielquo:
could be here all day thinking of them, to start of with, the ones that spring to mind not mentioned.
Rick had a Black Roger Giffin custom built telecaster, not sure he still owns it.
He did once have a Gretsch White Falcon.
There are loads of teles as we know.
Francis meanwhile to name a few bizarre ones, erm a Fender Flame, Freddie Edwards used it for solo gigs, there are promo pics of Francis holding it.
Theres been a few Semi-Acoustics, a Gibson 335 in the 70's, I seen a pic of Francis using/trying a Yamaha 335 copy. This may have been part of the Quo/Yamaha thing bout 2-3 years ago.
On the subject of Yamaha guitars they do also have custom Yamaha Pacifica Mike Stern 1511 (yamahas take on a tele) models that have been Quo'd up. Theyve used them on TV a few times.
On the pic from Hilversum studios 1978 theres a few various suprises, A Rickenbacker, theres 2 Flying V's, a Coral Sitar I think is on there too!!!
Precious Pup:
Hi danielquo, In that pic at Wisseloord studio 2 in addition to the guitars of Francis, Richard and Alan we set up all of Pip's guitars that he had with him at the time. Thats why you will see a few surprises such as Pips coral sitar and ricky not normally seen with the band.Richard did have a Flying 'V' that he didn't play much, probably due to it not being the best guitar for the tramlines and so I had loan of it for a while. Did many solos with Francis's "V" though which after old faithful I really loved the sound of for solo's. Brilliant tone and sustain.
