Test 1counting.pdf (60.05 KB)counting drum tab.pdf (55.46 KB)counting.mid (551 B)
Part 1 basic counting techniques.
There is 3 files
1 Guitar 5 bars
2 drum tab
3 Midi set at 60 BPM
The MIDI will let you hear each bar. i have added a Crash for each bar ( BAR 1 BEAT 1 , BAR 2 ON BEATS 1 AND 3, BAR 3,4 AND 5 BEAT 1,2,3 AND 4)
My way i think of breaking down a 4/4 bar is goes like this.
The top 4 tells us that there is 4 beat in a bar, the bottom tells us the lengh that is Quarter note. ie 1/4. we can see that we have 4 groups of 1/4 notes
Think of Cake (or anyfood that cut in to pieces).
In music we divide by 2.
hence we Full, 2 slices.4 slices.8 slices and 16 slices( i will ignore the 32nd slice)
let` apply this to music.
As we dived the beats sound faster (
1 bar is full cake we strike the 6th string and count out ,1,2,3,4 (1=1/4 ,2=1/4 and so on)
Bar 2 half note 1/2 count strike one 1 and let ring and count 2( ie 1/4+1/4) then strike the the note on count 3 let ring count 4
bar 3 is a 1/4 note strike the string 4 time times count 1,2,3 and 4
bar 4 is an 1/8 note = 1/4= 1/8 + 1/8.. Look at bar 3 we can see 4 notes then look at bar 4 we can there is 4 more
Bar 5 is 1/16 = 1/4=1/8+1/8= 1/16+1/16+1/16+1/16 this time we can we double up the note from bar 4
Try i on each string. Then try this bar 1 try and chord and strum down, the try the reverse and strum up.
Bar 2 try an Down on the 12, and up on the 34 and then try the reverse of that.
Any question feel free to ask.
