Had this guitar for a few years now and it ended up in need of some TLC. Step forward. Mr Jamie McColl with his impressive ability to turn an ordinary guitar in to a good one.
Fender bits removed and Gibson bits fitted with new brass nut and some fret work.
I`d now use this guitar for any form of rock music when before, it was just used to accommodate alternate tunings.
Looks good. Thinking of a new guitar myself. Never had a Tele, got a strat now, but because of my style of play i tend to knock the controls all the time. So thinking more along the lines of a Les Paul - always fancied a sunburst
My dream for the end of Quo - to see every member of the band past and present on the same stage at the last ever gig. As the encore ends, they all stand on the stage in the "Tank" formation with teles playing Rick's intro to Caroline as the stage sinks from view in dry ice .
I used to have an Epi` LP Standard in sunburst. It was always a troublesome guitar with intonation and going out of tune. The sound from it for Rock and Metal was impressive though. It could sustain in to next week. The necks on all LP`s are fragile so watch heavy strings that will not do it any favours.
Aye indeed Mr Jamie McColl. What a great chap he is. When i seen his Graphic Guitars on message board it blew me away. Sometime latter i see that Quo Guitar was for sale, and i was very lucky to win that item, and Jamie dropped it off for me. Great player and geunie down to earth chap.
We got talking for a while , then i had idea of 12GB Guitar , stuff took shappe, and end result it was made to my specs( that we disucesed in length). What a great piece of Art and mighty fine sound, been tying all style of music and stands up to them all.
