Hi All, I am new to this forum so i am still taking all of this in my stride.... Please note... This guitar is not going to be exactly accurate, but it will be a pretty close replica).
I have had a 'cheap made' british green telecaster for the past 5 years and have sanded down corners etc to make it rossi like, I have now got to the stage where I wish to add a 3rd pickup. I have access to a router and machinery such like... Has anyone got any advice on fitting a 3rd pickup and what budget pickups to use. - (I thought about re-using some strat ones + I dont really want to change the bridge, i like the one thats there already).
Here is my guitar as it is now: (I have already started adding the wear and tear, please tell me if there is any more that needs adding) Also.. the stickers seen on the pickguard are now gone... Thanks, steve
That is looking really good Steve, thanks for sharing
My dream for the end of Quo - to see every member of the band past and present on the same stage at the last ever gig. As the encore ends, they all stand on the stage in the "Tank" formation with teles playing Rick's intro to Caroline as the stage sinks from view in dry ice .

Hi again all, As I am on a budget, just wondering if anyone knows where i could grab myself a white bridge pickup, Middle and neck are sorted. just searching for a white bridge pickup..
If there isn't a budget one out there i'll think about modifying the mounting plate on a strat pickup.

I have half drilled out the hole for the middle pickup and I will finish it off tomorrow, I'll upload some pictures for you lot tomorrow night so you can see the progress.
Also... Does anyone know the exact position of the 'Rossi Hole'?, If not I will just have a pretty good guess from looking at the picture.

Hi all, I have finished cutting out the hole for the middle pickup, I'm not going to smooth the edges as I feel it doesn't have to neat as its going under the pick guard. One annoying note.... In between the middle pickup hole and the bridge pickup hole there is a chip in the wood... Luckily for me the pick guard just about covers it!
Erm with regards to mounting it in, I had the guy who done mine use the original base of the tele pick-up and stuck it to the new 'strat' pick-up. Not a easy job, you may not always end up with it being adjustable, so you may need to get the height right then mount it in and fix it down.
Pickups easy to come buy, you can just buy new covers if you cant find full lookalikes.
Hole positioning cant be a barsteward.
I would say best idea would be get the best photo you can of the guitar and go off that.
I used the facelift for the luthiers who done mine
I have used Artec single coils in my Rossi teles. They are basically strat pick-ups but look like lace sensors as they have closed covers so no pole pieces sticking out.
